Israel turns tables on UN official claiming 'genocide' in Gaza with basic questions

Israel Turns Tables on UN Official Over "Genocide" Claim in Gaza The Israeli government has strongly condemned UN official Richard Falk for his recent remarks stating that Israel's treatment of Palestinians in Gaza amounts to "genocide". In response, Israel is accusing Falk of using biased and baseless information to portray a false narrative to the international community. Falk, who is the UN's Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories, made the controversial statement during a press conference at the UN headquarters in New York. He claimed that Israel's "criminal" actions in Gaza have caused a grave humanitarian crisis and that it amounts to "genocide" as defined by international law. However, Israel has vehemently rejected this accusation and has accused Falk of spreading false and inflammatory propaganda against the country. Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon stated, "Mr. Falk's accusations are nothing less than a false, inflammatory and mendacious libel against the state of Israel." Falk's claims have also been met with major backlash from various Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has called for his immediate removal from the UN position. Netanyahu labeled Falk's statement as "absurd" and said that Israel has continuously acted in self-defense in the face of constant attacks from Hamas in Gaza. In response to the allegations, Israel has also highlighted the numerous steps it has taken to ensure the safety and well-being of Palestinian civilians in Gaza. The country has implemented a strict protocol known as the "Roof Knocking" procedure, which involves dropping non-explosive warning rockets on targeted buildings to warn civilians to evacuate before an airstrike is carried out. In addition, Israel has been providing humanitarian aid, including food, water, and medical assistance, to Palestinians in Gaza despite ong.
